Lines in the Landscape

Look around you; what do you see? Take a glance around the room or out the window and you're sure to see this element of design: LINE! 

Lines are all around us, from the lines on roadways to the horizon line created where the sky meets the land. This past week in art class, 4th graders explored lines in the landscape by creating chalk pastel drawings based off a location of their choice. Here are just a few examples from deserts, to oceans!

3rd grade students created collages using cut paper and oil pastels to show several different types of line. Look at all those lines!
